PDA workshop in Liverpool - England
CISPDA and Simply Misunderstood, both based in the North West England, aim to provide support, improve the understanding and spread awaraness of PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance). This workshop is looking at interventions, looking at how to change demands and build skills for the child so they can cope better with demands. So by the end of the day people attending will be able to understand which areas they need to adapt.
The workshop covers the following key areas:
Prior to this workshop, a 'Introduction to PDA' course will be also available in Wigan. It will be focused on improving the understanding of PDA for parents, family members and carers living or working with children and young adults who have a diagnosis of PDA or suspect it. Founder and director of CISPDA since 2015, first worldwide project to spread awaraness about PDA in Spanish. Rocio has experience working with children and young adults 1:1, 2:1 and their respective families. Rocio has experience working with people with ASD (including PDA), learning difficulties, Sensory Processing Disorders (SPD), Anxiety Disorders, Challenging Behaviour, etc. Rocio provide personalised support to families from different countries in the world, mainly from the UK, South America and Spain. Founder Simply Misunderstood
Nurse Consultant/behaviour therapist whose background lies within learning disability nursing. Specialised in challenging behaviour and autism and have been completing a holistic functional analysis of behaviours for the past 16 years. Jude has worked within the NHS and she is very passionate about providing a quality and an individualised service which enables people to have a happy and fulfilling life.
